Heavenly baklavas
I worked in Tempe for 5 months in 2001 and passed this tiny Middle eastern restaurant/grocery store every day. Finally after 2 years I suggested to my husband to give this place a try. They have the best baklavas in town which are made fresh daily in the store.

Phoenix Zoo Part III
We spent Labor day at the Phoenix Zoo. It was blistering hot that Monday morning. I found out how the animals cool down under the hot summer sun of Arizona.

Where's the gas?

Lining up for gas at a gas station in Chandler, Arizona

A pipeline leakeage in Tucson caused the gasoline shortage in Phoenix and several cities surounding the valley area. With 1/3 of the gas supply being cut, gasoline prices skyrocketed in the valley. I heard of one gas station was charging its customers US$4.00 per gallon for unleaded gas.

Since I had an appointment with the Malaysian Consulate in Los Angeles, we took the kids to Disneyland for 3 days. We stayed at Paradise Pier Hotel - part of Disney resort- just across the street from Disney California Adventure Park.
I love the kiddie rides - It's a Small World and Mad Tea Party. My old heart was too fragile for those heart stopping, stomach churning rides. But I managed to gather enough strength to brave the bumpy Indiana Jones Adventure ride - not good if you have osteoporosis.

A beautiful April day at the Arizona Asian Festival which was held at Patriot's Square Park in downtown Phoenix. The best place to be for a dose of food and culture from the Asian communities in Arizona. I love the vegetarian samosas sold by the Indian association.
